National Research Programme for Plantation Development

The National Research Programme for Plantation Development (NRPPD) at the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram, is a research programme established with financial support from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to promote policy-oriented research on India's plantation sector.

Since its establishment, the programme has focused on generating evidence-based research that supports sustainable growth, competitiveness, and inclusive development of plantation crops. NRPPD undertakes interdisciplinary research covering economic, social, institutional, technological, environmental, and trade-related issues affecting the plantation economy.
